OK I admit it.
I am a bit embarassed about getting a divorce.
ok a lot embarassed.
because we haven't been married that long.. and I feel like... if we had been married for like 10 years or something it'd be less embarassing.
but really... maybe it'd be MORE embarassing... like... gosh something REALLY bad must've happened you know?
I asked my dad, should I be embarassed and he said nope, that if you're going to get a divorce, getting a divorce when you haven't been married very long is the best time. It made me laugh. I guess it's true. At least we didn't waste any more years of our lives together, and we didn't stay together so long that we had children, or I passed the age of child baring, etc.
so... that is good. :)

ReplyDeleteFrom the MM board as well. Have to concur with your Dad. Remember roughly 50% of marriages end in divorce. That would mean an awful lot of red faces! You are doing fine!
ReplyDeleteFelt the same way when my husband left. Felt everyone would say things like "Well, it took him long enough." Or "I was wondering when he was finally going to leave you."
ReplyDeleteBut you know what? They didn't say that at all. They all were very supportive and encouraged me all the way.
So, don't be embarrassed. You did nothing wrong You loved him unconditionally and wanted him to love you the same way.
